A clearer way to make a large international transfer

Moving a significant amount of money internationally can involve deadlines, supporting documents and exchange-rate decisions that have a meaningful effect on the amount you send or receive.

Currencyflow shows you the exchange rate available to you upfront, with a transparent 0.25%-0.40% margin depending on transfer size and no Currencyflow payment transfer fees.

If your payment is coming up in the future, you can use a forward contract to fix an available exchange rate for an agreed date. If your timing is more flexible, you can set a target rate and wait to see if the market reaches it.

You'll also have someone who knows your transfer and can help you through the process. You can reach us by phone, WhatsApp or email whenever you want to talk things through.

What to consider before making a large international transfer

Exchange-rate movements

On a large transfer, relatively small exchange-rate movements can materially affect the amount you send or receive. You can exchange at the available rate, use a forward contract for a future payment or set a target rate if your timing is flexible.

Transfer timing

Think about when the funds need to arrive and allow for banking cut-off times, any checks required and the receiving bank. Same-day transfers are possible for major currencies once we've received your funds.

Source of funds and documentation

Larger transfers can require additional information about where the money has come from and what the transfer is for. We'll tell you what supporting documents we need for your payment.

Tax and legal considerations

A large international payment may have tax or legal implications depending on why you're moving the money and the countries involved. Currencyflow doesn't provide tax or legal advice, so you may want to speak to an appropriate professional.

Recipient and banking details

Some destinations or payment types require specific recipient or banking information. We'll let you know what details are needed before the transfer is made.

Transfer updates

We'll keep you informed as your transfer progresses, including when we've received your funds and when your international payment has been sent.
