What is the mid-market exchange rate?
The mid-market exchange rate is the midpoint between the price at which a currency can be bought and the price at which it can be sold in the global foreign exchange market. It's a useful benchmark for comparing currencies, but it is generally not the exchange rate a bank, broker or currency provider gives a customer when making an international transfer.
Mid-market rates vs Currencyflow rates
The rates on this page are mid-market rates.
When you make an international transfer with Currencyflow, we apply a transparent margin to the mid-market rate. The margin varies according to your transfer amount, with larger transfers generally receiving a lower margin.
To make our pricing easier to compare, we also publish a Currencyflow indicative rate, based on a reference transfer value of £50,000 or the equivalent in the currency being sent.
